Compose a brief essay between 400 and 600 words (not including your references list) in which you answer the following question, referring to and critiquing relevant ideas from at least three of the Week 2 readings as you develop your thoughts:
QUESTION: What are the main challenges to achieving justice in American society today and how does American republican government allow the country to address those challenges better than either the Platonic and/or Aristotelian forms of government would?
1. State a thesis and roadmap of your essay, for example: The main challenge to achieving justice in American society today is A and B. I will prove this by discussing X, Y, and Z. In addition, this essay will compare the American republican government the the Platonic and Aristotelian forms of government in light of current American challenges in achieving justice as described above.
2. Provide evidence and citations for each of your claims/supporting details. Make sure to discuss the Platonic and Aristotelian forms of government in relation to the issues of American achieving justice you discuss. This topic could be a dissertation, so make sure to focus your essay...don't talk too generally.
3. Write a conclusion--it's a good idea to go back to your roadmap to see if you wrote the paper you set out to. If you did not, please review your paper.
4. Spell check/grammar check your paper. Every once in awhile a few grammatical things may appear, but this should not be a consistent issue.
5. Double space your essay. Use Times New Roman Font 12 or 14.
6. Use proper APA citations. See Purdue OWL's website on citations if you need assistance.
