In this paper, I will discuss the role of insight and divergent thinking in creativity, using a personal example. Additionally, I will explore gender differences in creativity and discuss a scholarly article that connects to the topic.

Insight and Divergent Thinking in Creativity

Insight is the eureka moment or the unexpected solution that comes to the mind after a period of thinking about a problem. Insight refers to the sudden understanding of the relationships between variables in a problem. It is a critical component of creativity as it enables individuals to find novel and valuable solutions to complex problems. In contrast, divergent thinking involves the generation of multiple solutions to various problems without necessarily choosing a particular solution. As a student, I experienced the need to create a practical solution for the problem of food waste in my university.
