Collect all materials for boat and spread out on workbench
Grab plastic container and trace shape onto Styrofoam
Cut out shape of Styrofoam and hot glue it to the base of the plastic container
Trace the container again and cut it out
Hot glue it onto the inside of the container
Using the scissors, cut a small hole in the back of the boat, enough to fit a straw in
Get a bottle cap and cut a hole the same size as the one in the container
Line up both holes from the container and the bottle cap and hot glue the bottle cap over the container hole
Stick a straw through both holes. This represents the motor
Using the ruler, measure the height of the plastic container
Using this measurement, find Styrofoam that matches that thickness.
Draw a shape of a nose on the Styrofoam and cut it out
Hot glue it to the front of the boat
Get a rubber band and go back to the straw
Get the balloon and tie the balloon with the rubber band to the end of the straw
In our boat we added some extra detail such as a seat and a steering wheel. To make these we did the following steps:
Cut out 2 bits of Styrofoam, one slightly bigger than the other.
Place the bigger one flat and stand the smaller one up at the back of the flat one. Hot glue them together
Get a bottle cap and hot glue it just in front of where you glued the seat.

14. Tie the balloon to the end of the straw using the rubber band, simulating the engine of the boat.

a. Cut out two pieces of Styrofoam, where one is slightly larger than the other.
b. Place the larger piece flat and stand the smaller piece up at the back of the flat one, using hot glue to hold them together.
c. Attach a bottle cap in front of the seat using hot glue.
Attach a piece of Styrofoam the size of the bottom of the container to the bottom of the container using hot glue
Use a pair of scissors and shape the boat hull by scraping away Styrofoam on the sides
Get another piece of Styrofoam the size if the nose of the boat and hot glue it to underneath the nose to make it thicker

Next, take the plastic container and attach a piece of Styrofoam, cut to the size of the bottom of the container, to the bottom using hot glue.
Using a pair of scissors, shape the boat hull by scraping away some Styrofoam on the sides, giving it a more streamlined appearance.
Then, find another piece of Styrofoam that matches the size of the boat's nose and hot glue it underneath the nose to make it thicker and more stable.
