Personal value is just that, personal. Your momma instilled many of them in your, but your life experiences played a significant part later.
This question reminds me of a man I met years ago. He was a young Polish Jew during World War II. Taking great risks with his life, he escaped the Nazis. He explained that he was young, foolhardy, plus his family was dead. He believed he had nothing to lose by his courage and risk-taking.
