3x + 4y = 84

double the first equation
14x + 4y = 172
3x + 4y = 84
subtract them
11x = 88
x = 8
sub back into 1st:
7(8) + 2y = 86
2y = 30
y = 15

so 8 adapters and 15 flashlights.
