Can you please direct me in the right way to finding the answer to these problem. I have been out of school since 1995 and have no idea how to sit them up.

If your friend drank 700mL of your liter of soda, what percent of soda did she leave for you? If the liter costs 1.50 what does she owe you? Assume that one mL of soda weighs the same as one mL of pure water, even though that's not exactly the case.
My Partial Answer
I know that one liter equals 1000mL. so 700mL/1000mL=.07 im not sure but i put 30% was left for me. that's as far as i can get on this problem. thanks

You have a good start.

700mL/1000mL = 0.7
To convert 0.7 to a percent, either
multiply by 100
or move the decimal point two places to the right.

0.7 = 70%

You're right -- she left you 30%.

To find what she owes you -- multiply 0.7 * $1.50
