As I told you 8 hours before you posted this repeat whine,
The first 52 values are
1*1 -- 1
2*3 -- 1+3 = 4
3*11 -- 4+11 = 15
4*17 -- 15+17 = 32
5*20 -- 32+20 = 52
so the next one is a 6
Can you explain how you got the 53rd? What number did you add or subtract ect to get the 53rd?
A recent survey asks 105 students, How many hours do you spend on the computer in a typical day? Of the 105 respondents, 1 said 1hour, 3 said 2 hours, 11 said 3 hours, 17 said 4 hours, 20 said 5 hours, 24 said 6 hours, 16 said 7 hours, 8 said 8 hours, 5 said 9 hours.
1) What is the average (mean) number of hours spent on the computer? Round your answer to one decimal point.
2) What is the median number of hours spent on the computer?

formula rd=(n+1)/2. n is the number of students=105. Pluck into the formula you got (105+1)/2=53rd position. That is how you got the 53rd. Oobleck must not have understood what you were asking for. The rest Oobleck had already show you.
