My friend said that she was never going to get a credit card because she prefers to save up and pay cash for whatever she wants. She would never want to use her credit card to make everyday purchases; things like food, clothing, and gas should not be purchased with a credit card. She understands that using your credit card as a substitute for cash can be a habit that can quickly lead to debt. For regular purchases, my friend has learned to leave her credit card in her wallet at all times leaving her with the use of cash or a debit card instead. She has also learned that making only the minimum payments each month increases the amount of time it will take to pay off her debt. My friend would rather have her debt off quicker so she pays as much as she can on her balance each month. The only reason why she is so aware and refuses to use her credit card so much is because her father was once in serious debt with credit cards and she never wants to get to that point or go through that awful experience her father had to face for many years.
