Asked by jas20
can somone correct these for me please...
Simplify (m^5)^8
My answer.m^40
List the terms and coefficients of
8x^3-4x^2+3
My answer: terms: 3
coefficients: 8,-4
This next one i'm not sure about how to even do it...
write 9.03 X 10^-2 in standard notation.
standard notation? .0903
The others are correct.
can you explain how you came about the standard notation...how do you detemine it...i really like to learn it...when you get a chance..thanks for all your help.
Also my question is for this next one...
Write using positive exponents only
b^-2
can you explain it to me please.
10^1 = 10
10^0 = 1
10^-1 = .1 or 1/10
10^-2 = .01 or 1/100
Thus 9.03 x 10^-2 = 9.03 x .01 = .0903
The term with the negative exponent is equal to its reciprocal with a positive exponent. Thus
b^-2 = (1/b)^2
I hope this helps. Thanks for asking.
