(a) Add the distances that he travels during the two intervals that he drives.
(41/60)*80.5 + 130 km = ?
(b) Divide the total distance travelled (from a) by the total elapsed time T, including the 15 min (1/4 hr) rest.
T = 41/60 + 1/4 + 1.70 hr = ?
Can someone help me out with this question:
A motorist drives north for 41.0 minutes at 80.5 km/h and then stops for 15.0 minutes. He then continues north, traveling 130 km in 1.70 h
(a) What is his total displacement?
(b) What is his average velocity?

displacement is the change in distance so it would be f-i which is 0-80.5=-80.5 and then you also need to find the other displacement which is 130-0=130 and the total i believe is adding the two which is 49.5. hope its right
