Can someone help me explain the issues and conclusion of the Gulf War...?

The bare bones facts are that Iraq invaded Kuwait because of dispute over oil. The U.S. invaded Iraq, and chased its soldiers out of Kuwait. We accomplished that goal, declared victory, and came home.
