Can Newton's be negative?

1 answer

If you are solving an equation for a force that is defioned to be positive in one direction, it is possible that the actual force will be in the opposite direction, in which case the force "X Newtons" will be negative. The force unit "Newton" itself is not negative, but the number X would be.
