Well, you were half way there.
0.00102 x 6.022 x 10^23 gives you the number of molecules of that compound, then multiply that by 21 to find the number of atoms (since there are 21 atoms in 1 molecule).
Calculate the total number of atoms in 0.00102 mol CH3(CH2)4CH2OH
The answer in the back of my book says 1.29 x 10^22 but i do not understand how they got to that answer. Will someone please show me how they would set up the problem.
I though all you had to do was calculate 0.00102 x (6.022 x 10^23) but apparently that is wrong.
