Is the answer D?
Thank you
Calculate the slant height for the given fine. Round to the nearest tenth.
Diameter=8cm
Height=9cm
A. 10.2 cm
B, 11.4 cm
C. 9.8 cm
D. 12.0 cm
I can't figure out how to do it.
If someone can help me figure out how to do it step by step I would really appreciate it.

Cause a^2+b^2=c^2
9^2+8^2=c^2
81+64=c^2
145=c^2
The square root of 145 is 12.0
9^2+8^2=c^2
81+64=c^2
145=c^2
The square root of 145 is 12.0
I don't know what a "fine" is in this context.
Well, since the shape is not given, I am guessing it is a cone, based off of other problems with the same wording and answer selection.
The equation to use is the Pythagorean Theorem. For this, you forgot to do something for it.
In order to use this equation, I believe you need to use a radius and the height together. So, r^2 + h^2 = c^2. The radius is half the diameter, which is 4 in this case.
So:
4^2 + 9^2 = c^2
16 + 81 = c^2
97 = c^2
Now do the square root 97.
c = 9.8488578017961047217462114149176 = 9.8
Therefore, I think C is correct.
I hope this helps! :)
