Since F = G*m1 * m2 / r^2
If m1 doubles and r decreases by 1/2, you have
G * 2m1 * m2 / (r/2)^2 = 8G m1 m2 / r^2
so, 8 is correct
If you just do the math, you don't have to wonder.
By what factor does the gravitational force between two objects increase if one object doubles in mass and the distance between them decreases by half?

Nope It's 4 love :)
1.it's decreases by a factor of 9
2.the second one: is m3/(kg*s^2)
3.it is 8
4.it increases by a factor of 1 9/16
5.because the surface area of a sphere is proportional to the square if the radius
2.the second one: is m3/(kg*s^2)
3.it is 8
4.it increases by a factor of 1 9/16
5.because the surface area of a sphere is proportional to the square if the radius
The answer is 8. I took the quiz, I should not have trusted whoever said 4 X-X
