Benefits of Insect birth control through sterilization

What is your thinking on this? What you are dealing with is population control...and the technology (genetic mutation, dispersion, etc)to achieve it.I will be happy to critique your thinking on this. The classic example in my lifetime was the screw worm eradication program.

I have to write down the advantages and disavantages of insectp birth control through sterilization. I have the disavantages but not the advantages(benefits)

Avantages? Cost, can be dispersed over a wide geographic region, even across countries. Is specific to the insect species. Does not harm other species. Once established, it can be maintained with little cost.

It came from experience and cognitive functioning. You can easily find references that will amplify these points. You need to do some research on your own.
