Been trying to solve this equation and I keep getting 3...any advice would be appreciated

log2 (x+5)=4+log2 (x-1)

1 answer

log2[(x+5)/(x-1)] = 4
2^4 = 16 = (x+5)/(x-1)
16x - 16 = x + 5
15x = 21
x = 7/5
