Because you are famous, people want to live near you. You have a new neighbor move in across the street after they build the same exact house as you did in Chapter 3.

Question 7
With a different color, Plot and state the points (ordered pairs) of your neighbor’s house, which is a reflection of your house in Chapter 3 over the y-axis. Name the color you use on your graph here. (3 points) *Connect the plotted points to make it look like a house*

1 answer

To reflect the points of my house over the y-axis, we need to change the sign of the x-coordinate of each point. Let's assume that the original points of my house in Chapter 3 are:
A(1,2), B(3,4), C(5,2), D(7,4)

Using reflection over the y-axis, the corresponding points for my neighbor's house would be:
A'(-1,2), B'(-3,4), C'(-5,2), D'(-7,4)

I will plot these points on the graph using a different color. Let's use the color green for my neighbor's house.

Here are the plotted points for my neighbor's house:
A'(-1,2)
B'(-3,4)
C'(-5,2)
D'(-7,4)

Now, I will connect the plotted points to make it look like a house.
