Barium sulfate, BaSO4 is made by the following reaction.

Ba(NO3)2(aq) + Na2SO4(aq)----> BaSO4(s) + 2NaNO3(aq)

An experiment was begun with 91.77 g of Ba(NO3)2 and an excess of Na2SO4. After collecting and drying the product, 62.3 g of BaSO4 was obtained. Calculate the theoretical yield and percentage yield of BaSO4.

------?----------g of BaSO4 would be expected, hence we have-------?-------- % yield.

I got answer 119.45g and theoratical yield 52.1557 %

Is that correct?
please help me out, thanks
I don't get those numbers.
1. Convert 91.77 g Ba(NO3)2 to moles. moles = grams/molar mass.

2. Using the coefficients in the balanced equation, convert moles Ba(NO3)2 to moles BaSO4.

3. Convert moles BaSO4 to grams. g = moles x molar mass. This is the theoretical yield. Post your work if yu get stuck.
