Awake

by A. Gautam

My mind is a starry night
Thoughts twinkle left and right
I try to shut them with all my might

But, my mind is a fish bazaar
Words come to me from near and far
Unstoppable even with an imaginary bar

Yes, my mind is a stormy sea
Ignorant to my own plea
Wide awake it wants to be

Which of these is true about this poem?
A.
Within each stanza, all the lines end in the same rhyme.
B.
Every other line of each stanza shares a rhyme.
C.
Only the odd lines in each stanza share a rhyme.
D.
The poem has the same end rhyme in all the lines.

1 answer

The correct answer is B. Every other line of each stanza shares a rhyme.

In the poem, the rhyme scheme for each stanza follows an A B A B pattern, meaning that every other line shares a rhyme. For example, in the first stanza: "night" (A) rhymes with "might" (A), and "right" (B) does not rhyme with either. This pattern continues in the other stanzas as well.
