The figure below gives their velocities v as functions of time t as the conductors slow the trains. The slowing processes begin when the trains are 265 m apart. What is their separation when both trains have stopped?

If you take the area(s) under the v-t graph, that area is distance. Add the two areas, subtract frm 265, that is the distance left.
