Arrange the terms in descending order.
1.) r^2 - 3r^3 + 4 - r + 8r^4
2.) 2t^2 + 5 - t + 12t^3
3.) -5q - 3q^2 + 5
4.) 3w^4 - 4w^3 + 6 - 2w^2 + 8w^5 - w
5.) 5 + s - s^2 - s^3

What does descending mean?

so look at the exponents, start with the highest, go to the lowest,

e.g.
2.) 2t^2 + 5 - t + 12t^3
= 12t^3 + 2t^2 - t + 5

simple, isn't it?
