are women more intelligent than men?

No.
Intelligence in both genders is normally distributed. Although you might find individuals who might demonstrate the case in either direction, comparing the average intelligence of both genders leads to no significant differences.
However, some differences in measures of intelligence might be found, depending on the methods used to measure it. If the tasks are specifically related to the gender roles in the culture of one group or the other, some differences may be found. Even so, this probably indicates differences in education and opportunity within the culture, rather than the intelligence level of the subjects involved.
I hope this helps a little more. Thanks for asking.
