the reduced fractions are equivalent
to reduce fractions, you need to find a common factor in the top and bottom.
25/45 = 5*5 / 5*9 = (5/5)(5/9) = 5/9
15/27 = 3*5 / 3*9 = 5/9
since the two fractions both simplify to the same value, they are equal.
Or, you can just say they are equal, and see whether the equation can be solved
25/45 = 15/27
Now multiply by the common denominator of 45*27
25/45 * 45*27 = 15/27 * 45*27
25*27 = 15*45
675 = 675
so, since the last step is true, the first step, which led there, must also be true.
