50 = 5 * 5 * 2
150 = 5 * 5 * 2 * 3
so if a = 50
and b = 150
greatest common = 5*5*2 = 50
then a+b = 50 + 150 = 50* 1 + 50*3
but that we know is 50 * (1+3)
= 50*4 = 200
