The term "political" means anything related to how a group of people make decisions and govern themselves. In the New England Colonies, the towns had town meetings where everyone could vote on rules, while in the Southern Colonies, rich landowners had more power and made most of the decisions. The Middle Colonies had a mix where people could have some say but also had leaders like governors. So, New England liked everyone to speak up, the Southern Colonies let a few people rule, and the Middle Colonies were somewhere in between!
