An open rectangular box has internal dimensions 2m long, 20cm wide and 22.5cm deep. If the box is made of wood 2.5cm thick, calculate the volume of the wood in cm cube.

the wood is the difference between the outer and inner volumes. In cm^3, that is

200*20*22.5 - (200-5)(20-5)(22.5-2.5)
Volume of the wood = LBH(Outer)-lbh(Inner)
= 200*20*22.5 - (200-5)(20-5)(22.5-2.5)
= 90,000 - 58,500
= 31500
38 125
volume=(200+5)*(20+5)*(22.5-2.5) - 200*20*22.5
=38,125 cm3
The 5 that was added to 200 and 20 where was it gotten from. Why was 5 not added to 22.5 and why was 2.5 subtracted from 22.5
That good and the best
volume of the wood= volume of external - volume of internal.
Volume of external =
L= 200+2*2.5 B= 20+2*2.5 H=22.5+1*2.5
L=205 B=25 H=25
volume of the external =205*25*25
=128125
volume of internal= 200*20*22.5
=90000
volume of the wood=volume of external -volume of internal
128125-90000
=38125. Thanks for the opportunity
Internal dimension=
Length=2m to cm=200cm
Wide/breadth=20cm
Depth/height=22.5cm
Thickness=2.5cm
External dimensions=
Lenght=Internal lenght thickness(2)
200+5cm=205cm
Width=Internal width+thickness(2)
20+5=25cm
Depth=Internal depth+thickness
22.5+2.5=25cm
Volume of wood=External-Internal
(205×25×25)-(200×20×22.5)
128125-90000
=38125cm^3
Use in terms of 22/7
Please explain why 5 was added to the length and width but not to the depth
Thank you so much for this great job
Thank you very much
