An object in equilibrium has three forces exerted on it. A 25 N force acts at 90 from the x-axis and a 48 N force acts at 60. What are the magnitude and direction of the third force

1 answer

assuming your given forces are in first quadrant

Fx + 48 cos 60 = 0

Fy + 25 + 48 sin 60 = 0

|F| = sqrt (Fx^2 + Fy^2)

tan theta = Fy/Fx
