A metallic oxide M2O3 has a relative molecular mass of 102. Calculate the relative atomic mass of M.[O=16]
1. The element is P but you don't give enough information to know anything about a compound; ie., a compound with what?
2.
M2O3 = 102
3*16 = 48
102-48 = 54 for 2*M; therefore,
54/2 = 27. Must be Al for M and M2O3 must be Al2O3.
