An advertisement states that eight thermometers cost $12.42 minus a 3% discount. Dr. wants to order a dozen to take advantage of the savings, sales tax is 5%. What would the cost be? Is my math right? I divided 8 by $12.42 and got $1.55 p/thermometer. 12*$1.55 would cost $18.60 for 12 minus 3% disc total cost would be $18.04. add 5% sales tax total cost $18.94
