1.4x = 7.7
x = 7.7/1.4
x = 5.5
Sam is 4 feet tall and his shadow is 2.5 feet long. If the flagpole has a 30-foot shadow, how tall is the flagpole?
X over 4 = 30 over 2.5
2.5x= 4•30
----- = 120 divided by 2.5
X = 48 feet

The flagpole is 48 feet tall.
