A volume of water delivered using a buret has a mass of 5.15 g. What was the final volume reading on the buret if the inital volume reading was 0.70 ml?

[assume the density of water is 1.00g/mL]

If the mass is 5.15g and the density is 1.00 g/mL, then the volume must be 5.15 mL. If the buret started at 0.70 then 0.70+5.15 must be the new reading. You know that because the new volume - 0.70 must equal 5.15.
