nice problem!
remember that the sum of any two sides of a triangle has to be greater than the third side, so let's try the possible 3 numbers that have a sum of 8.
6 1 1 - no
5 1 2 - no
5 2 1 - no
4 1 3 - no
4 2 2 - no
4 3 1 - no
3 1 4 - no
3 2 3 - yes
any others would simply be permutations of the above.
Using Heron's formula --- http://www.mathopenref.com/heronsformula.html
area = √(4(1)(1)(2))
= 2√2
A triangle with integral sides has primeter 8. the area of the triangle is? (A)2 root 2 (B) 16/9root3 (c)2root 3 (E)4root 3
Would somebody help me?? I don't know how to solve it!
