a solution of an unknown metal chloride (0.8870 g) was treated with silver nitrate to yield (1.9132 g). calculate the percentage by mass of chloride in the unknown chloride

1 answer

You obtained 1.9132 g AgCl. Convert that to grams Cl. The easy way to do that is to multiply by a chemical factor to do the conversion. (I don't think chemical factors are taught anymore since there are other ways to do it).
1.9132g AgCl (atomic mass Cl/molar mass AgCl) = xx g
%Cl = (xx g/mass sample)*100 = ?
