a roof rises 1.2 feet vertically and 5.9 feet horizontally. What is the grade of the roof?

grade or slope is rise/run = 1.2/5.9 = .203

However watch out. Roof pitch is defined differently than slope. It is the rise over the total width of the building so for a symmetric building 1/3 slope =1/6 pitch
