a large cube is built from centimeter cube. faces of large cube are painted 1000 are unpainted what is the edge length ,how many are painted on one face two face and three faces
If 1000 are unpainted, that must mean that the inner dimensions are 10x10x10. To have those completely covered by other cm cubes, which have been painted to some degree, their edges need to be 12x12x12.
Assuming that you are painting only the cm cubes on the surface, the 8 corner cubes would have three faces painted. Those on the 12 edges (minus the 8 corner cubes) would have two faces painted. Calculating the surface area in cm (minus the cm cubes on corners and edges) would give you the cubes that are painted only on one face.
I hope that helps. Thanks for asking.
what is the lenght of an edge of the large cube
how many of the centimeters cubes are painted on one face
