Thanks Ali.What did you do?
Let the original amount be $x
Amount left after first episode
= x/2 - 1
amount left after lunch
= (x/2-1)/2 - 2
amount left after buying book
= [(x/2-1)/2 - 2]/2
amount left after buying fudge
= [(x/2-1)/2 - 2]/2 - 3
then[(x/2-1)/2 - 2]/2 - 3 = 1
[(x/2-1)/2 - 2]/2 = 4
[(x/2-1)/2 - 2] = 8
(x/2-1)/2 = 10
x/2 - 1 = 20
x/2 = 21
x = 42

$6.00
42/2=21
21-1=20
20/2=10
10-2=8
8/2=4
4-3=1
the answer is $42
21-1=20
20/2=10
10-2=8
8/2=4
4-3=1
the answer is $42
