i have not been taught the pythagorean theorom. is there nay other way to solve this?
The Pythagorean Theorem is easy.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

a= one side of a right angle triangle
b = another side of the right angle triangle
c = the long side of this triangle.

a = 2
b = ?
c = 8

2^2 + b^2 = 8^2
4 + b^2 = 64
b^2 = 60
b = 7.75
