Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. First of all, what do you see? "Someone..........the arrival of a train across the. . . . . ." Probably the fill-ins are, since you are at the train station, waits for......platform. (attend & quai)
I'm pretty sure l'arrivee isn't the arrive but rather some form of direct object pronouns? and a travers is through and not across which is en travers.

l'arrivée = arrival; intake; (sports) finish, goal
à travers = across; through
en travers de = across
