a jewelry company makes charms in a 2 x 2 x 3 inch box. They ship the charms in a 3 x 4 x 5 inch box. how many of the smaller boxes can fit into the larger box to ship the charms?

the first is 2 x 2 x 2 = 12
the second is 3 x 4 x 5 = 60. However, the answer is not 5.

Thanks for helping!

Online, “*” is used to indicate multiplication to avoid confusion with “x” as an unknown.

2*2*2 ≠ 12

However, unless you have more typos, I get 5 too.
Smaller box = 2*2*3.
Larger box = 3*4*5.

2 small boxes stacked = L*W*2h = 2*2*6. Too tall to fit in large
box.

2 small boxes side-by-side = L*2W*h = 2*4*3. So 2 smaller boxes will fit in the larger box.
