A force can make an object start to move or it can xxxxx it up or xxxx it down. We think the answers for x are speed and slow.

A magnetic force exists between a magnet and a magnetic material such as xxxx and xxxxx. These materials are attracted to a magnet. We think the answers for x are lead and steel.

When we fill in our grid the words lead and slow overlap. Which makes one of the words wrong. Can anyone help please.

You are right about speed/slow
For the other pair, choose iron/steel. The word "iron" might "overlap" on the letter "o" in "slow"
Thanks for your answer. The letters we have are lxxx and the third letter of slow goes through. We think slow is correct but cannot see how lead fits (if it is correct) as it would be lxox. We cannot think of another word beginning with l. Hope you can help.
Then the answer is certainly IRON
