And ms sue I think that means I'm going to have to write the main problem about the story ? Then at the end it resolves the whole problem

Im thinking of writing about a sister that has a brother that boxes and all the negativity gets to her and feels worried and scared .. than at the end I can say that her problems and being scared has gotten into happiness because he turned all the negativity into positive after he won his boxing match.

I don't know how should I start it off ?
Answered by
Ciaria
And a short story should be how many paragraphs ? 4?

Before you can start if off or determine the length, you need to figure out what your subject or topic is.
One thing that has worked well for my grandchildren is to think of something in their life and then spin a story from it that is fiction. The idea was something from life, but the result was a short story.
Beginnings and length come later.

yeah that's exactly what I did , I told ms sue I'm going to write about a sister that has a brother that boxes and all the negativity gets to her and feels worried and scared .. than at the end I can say that her problems and being scared has gotten into happiness because he turned all the negativity into positive after he won his boxing match. , Ive thought about my life and twist it around a little , Now I'm just wondering about the beginning and length , I don't know if I should start it off as "once upon a time"

Just start telling the story ... an intro will come to you later ... IF you decide you need one!
Answered by
Ms. Sue
Definitely not start it with "Once upon a time."
Some ideas --
She was scared!
Her brother was getting beaten -- badly beaten.
She loved her brother -- but was worried about him.

Ms. Sue
You can do it either way.
A short story of four paragraphs would be a really short, short story.
