A few years ago, researchers investigated how many clubs students were involved in at a small liberal arts college in the Northeast. The results of their interviews of 92 students are tabulated below:

number of clubs students
0 18
1 12
2 15
3 16
4 17
5 9
6 3
7 0
8 0
9 2

a. Create an appropriate display of this data.

I am not whether to display the data in a bar graph (categorical) or histogram (quantitative) because I am not sure whether number of clubs is a categorical or quantitative variable. Clubs would be categorical, but # of clubs is quantitative, so would I use a bar graph? I am confused because the variable is somewhat ordinal.

the chart displays number of clubs (0-9) and the # of students involved in a certain # of clubs. I need to create an appropriate display of the data, but I am not sure whether to use a bar graph or histogram because I am not sure whether the variable is categorical (bar graph) or quantitative (histogram).
