A father is 30 yrs old and his son is 5 yrs old. In how many years will the father be twice as old as the son?

3 answers

5 x 2=10
30 - 10= 20
10 x 2=20
answer: 10 years
I think not.
Father = 30 + x
Son = 5 + x
so
30 + x = 2 (5+x)
30 + x = 10 + 2 x
x = 20 years
