volume = lwh
= 18(3)(1/3)
= 18 cubic feet

Be careful it's 4 inches not 4 feet.
(18)(3)(12)(4) = 2592 cubic inches
2592/12 = 216 cubic feet

(You can check if you want, I did it myself so just use a calculator or something)
3 feet * 18 feet= 54 feet. 4 inches = 1/3 feet....
54 feet* 1/3 feet = 18 cubic feet of concrete!
6 feet X 160 feet x (9/12) feet / 27 cubic feet per cubic yard = 26.67 CY.

This is for all new sidewalk. Most sidewalk is not 9 inches thick. It is
usually 4 inches thick, as is most driveways. They use 9 inch thick concrete for older freeways. New freeways are 12 inches thick.
