(a) to get this, we just divide 1148 by 13. type this in you calculator:
1148 / 13
the answer must be 88.308. since the number of bags can not be decimal, we only take the whole number, which 88 sand bags.
(b) to get this, we multiply the number of bags used (which is 88) by its capacity:
13 * 88 = 1144 kg
then we subtract this from the original kg of sand:
1148 - 1144 = 4 kg sand left.
