Find the square root of 225. That will tell you the length of each new side.
thanks so much.
You're welcome.
The answer was not 15m. It was 12m.
I never said your answer was 15 m. Please go back and really read what I posted.
umm the square root of 225 is 15 and she got it wrong...
Ms sue is right but she said the side of the new garden not the old
take the square root of 255 (like ms.sue said) and you get 15, which is the NEW side length. If you subtract 3 (because that's how much they added) you get the answer: 12. 12 is the old side length.
Thank you Anonymouss for actually explaining
*sniff* mrs sue is wrong

(background) *softly says* mwahahaha
12m
12 isn't an option for me so going with 13
@yup check the question, some schools change the numbers but keep the problem the same, so maybe you might get it wrong, good luck guys!
If you have the option for 13, it's 13. The version of the question OP posted asks for the square root of 225. The other version of the question asks for the square root of 169. Y'all keep ya brains on
@Alyssa

Christ, Alyssa, you're saving my life. Thank you.
If you are solving for 169 m². The answer is 4m. this is because 4+9 = 13. And 13 is the square root of 169. Since you are solving for the original garden, 13-9 = 4. Answer=4. Do not put 13 or you will get it wrong.
