A car is traveling toward you at 40.0 mi/h. The car horn produces a sound at a frequency

of 480 Hz. What frequency do you hear? Assume that the sound velocity in
air is 1090 ft/s.

Do I need to convert ft/s to m/s?

I just sent you a link for these Doppler problems.
Had to convert 40.0 mi/h to 18m/s and 1090ft/s to 332 m/s

So the answer
480*332/(332-18)
=507hz

Thanks for the link
looks resonable
Use Google for those conversions
type 40 miles/hr meters/second and click
You get back
40 (((miles / hr) meters) / second) =
17.8816 m2 / s2
Thanks, I used translatorscafe, has most units
507Hz was the answer according to the textbook so I got it right according to that. Thanks
