A Car is moving at an average speed of 60 km/h. Find the algebraic expression for the kilometer it would travel in y minutes.

Comment on this question: Hello, for me, algebra is one of the hardest subjects at school. Most of the time I read a question over and over again but I'm still not sure what it's asking me to do. Thank you for your help!

sometimes it helps if you just relate the problem to a specific numerical case.

e.g. supposed you were asked how far a car going 60 km/h would go in 3 hours.
the answer is clearly 180 km
What did we do to get 180 ?
we multiplied 3 by 60

so if the time is y hours instead of 3 hours, we would then multiply y by 60, which would be 60y km

distance = 60y
