A Calculus book is dropped from the top of a Martian building 32 meters high. Gravity on Mars is 3.711 meters per second per second.

a) After how many seconds until the book hits the surface of Mars?
b) What is the velocity of the book at impact?

2 answers

i say b
s = 1/2 at^2, so t^2 = 32/(3.711/2)
t = 4.15 s

v = at = 3.711 * 4.15 = 15.41 m/s
